What we believe
Counselors who rely on the Bible, motivated by God’s love.
The resources and training on this site will show you how to speak words of healing, help, and hope — from a team that does it every day.
We are counselors who rely on the Bible to guide us, motivated by God’s love. We want our message, our methods, and our motives to reflect the grace and truth that Christ so powerfully demonstrated. You don’t have to become a counselor to care like Christ — you just have to have the conversation.
We have been at this for 35 years. What we have learned, we want to share with counselors, churches, and leaders — so they can be effective too.
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.”Proverbs 25:11 · ESV

Learn from people who have the conversation every week.Biblical Counseling Center has counseled people continuously since 1989, and the counselors who teach here still carry caseloads — so what you learn is what actually works when someone is sitting across from you.

Training you can build on.If you ever want to go further, the same training counts toward certification with ACBC, ABC, IABC and IRBC — BCC has been an ACBC training center for more than 30 years. Most members never need that; it's there if you do.

One simple way of caring, everywhere.Every Care Plan, micro-course and lesson uses the same four-step PLAN — Prepare, Listen, Ask, Navigate — so what you learn for one conversation carries into the next.

Real people, when you need them.Ask a question in the forums and a counselor answers. Join the monthly live Q&A. Or send us a message from the chat bubble on any page — a real person reads and answers every one.
How we hold our convictions
You don’t have to be exactly like us to grow with us.
The biblical counseling world is marked by real disagreements, and we’re not pretending otherwise. Some of those disagreements matter, and we have settled convictions of our own. But we’ve also noticed that arguing can distract us from caring deeply. So we seek to hold our secondary convictions with an open hand toward others and a firm grip on Scripture—willing to learn, willing to be challenged, and glad to work alongside people from different traditions who share a commitment to biblical, Christlike care. Whatever the debate, we keep returning to two questions:
What does the Bible teach us?Scripture is our final authority and our starting point—not a proof-text added at the end. It helps us understand what is wrong, what is true, and what faithful change looks like. That is why every Care Plan, course, and conversation begins with Scripture and remains accountable to it.
How did Jesus model the way for us?Jesus never traded truth for grace or grace for truth. He listened with compassion, asked discerning questions, spoke truth clearly, and responded rightly to both sin and suffering. Being right about the Bible is not enough; we also want to care for people in the way Christ did. That is the pattern for every conversation we teach.
